Independence Day, celebrated on 15th August, holds great importance in the
history of India as it marks the day our nation finally broke free from over 200
years of British colonial rule in 1947. It is a day to remember the countless
freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives so that we could live in a free and
independent nation. At our school, we celebrated this day with great
enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the
national flag by respected heads of our school, followed by a dance
wonderfully performed by the students invoking nationality in students. The
students of the Primary Section participated in the event by portraying our
great freedom fighters and bringing their inspiring stories of courage,
dedication and sacrifice to life, filling everyone with a deep sense of pride,
patriotism and unity. Then a unique mime performance was done by 7th grade
students showing the history of India from the independence that depict the
journey of India becoming into the great nation it is today without even
speaking a word still successful to make us all feel proud to live in such a
country. These vibrant celebrations not only make the day memorable but also
help us understand and appreciate the true value of the freedom we enjoy
today.
