Students at St. Kabir High School Navrangpura are often exposed to a variety of activities and field trips, in order to enhance their hands-on learning experience. With an objective of sensitizing students about the animal kingdom and various existent species, grade 1 students were taken for a field trip to Kamala Nehru Zoo, Kankaria. Jumping with excitement students witnessed numerous animals which they had only seen on television sets. From lions to hyenas, elephants, bears etc. and birds like kites, peacocks, vultures and ducks students got a chance to closely observe each one of the animals present. Our little ones beamed with joy as monkeys jumped from one branch of the tree to another. The main attraction was ‘Nocturnal Zoo’, where night animals and birds were kept in an artificially made habitat. Our students were thrilled to spot the creatures of the night.
In true sense, the visit helped our students co – relate the concepts they have been learning in class with real life experience gathered at the zoo.
