St. Kabir High School, Navrangpura organised a special programme on 29th September to commemorate the national festival, Gandhi Jayanti and celebrate the 154th birth anniversary of our father of nation – Mahatma Gandhi. It is also a day to celebrate a leader whose life exemplified the ideals of simplicity, integrity, and service to the nation – Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The students of Grades 7, 8 and 9 exuberantly participated in the event. The bulletin boards were decorated with inspiring quotes by Gandhiji. The entire programme was hosted by students of Grade IX. The event started with a significant speech followed by students reciting self-composed poems, skit and bhajans.
Moving a step ahead in helping the children understand Mahatma Gandhi’s life a role play, ‘Mohan to Mahatma’ was performed by the students of Grade VI. The entire programme came to an end by singing ‘Vaishnava Janato’, Bapuji’s favourite bhajan.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanthi, the great deeds of these prominent leaders were remembered and the audience was left with a sense of pride.
