We celebrated Teacher’s Day with joy and enthusiasm. The entire ceremony was organized by the students of grade 1st to 10th giving teachers a chance to sit back and enjoy their special day. Everything from dance, shlokas to decoration was taken on by the students. All the students in the school had voluntarily donated money to gift all the teachers in the hopes of giving them something to remember this year by. It was a day of celebration just as important as any other, more even, at St. Kabir that day. It was filled with special tributes, nostalgia and power-packed performances that earned cheers from the audience and left a smile on the teachers’ faces. The day would have been incomplete without Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan’s mention and his great contributions to society were discussed. Beautiful shlokas and stotrams were recited by the young students to honour our Indian heritage. The senior classes put together skit, songs and dances that livened up the day. Once every year, we get to celebrate the teachers in our lives and Kabirians made sure that the teachers knew just how much importance they have in our lives. Although, it seems a bit unfair to thank them only once in a year. This is why the students passed on an unspoken promise to celebrate the teachers every day in whatever way they can. That was the true message of the celebrations that day.
