St Kabir School march into under-19 final

Bowlers ruled the roost while the batsmen came out with an im pressive show as Sant Kabir School (SKS) defeated NR High School (NRHS) by nine wickets to reach the final of three-day under-19Diwan Ballubhai School Tournament. At Sardar Patel Stadium in Navrangpura, an in-form Ashish Harsholia shone with 129-ball 87 as NRHS struggled to post 186 after electing to bat.

For SKS, Kathan Patel was the pick of the lot with four wickets while Yash Jain too chipped in with three wickets. Manan Hingrajiya then topscored with a labourious 217-ball 73 while Kathan added 58 off 105 balls as SKS scored 277 in reply. For NRHS, Meet Vyas took five wickets while Ansh Patel scalped four more. NRHS batting failed for the second time in the match after they were bowled out for 144 in the second essay.

Raj Kiri top-scored with 54-ball 27. For SKS, Varshil Shah took four wickets while Kathan scalped three more. Het Mehta too chipped in with a couple. With just 54 runs needed to win the match, SKS blazed through the target in just 7.2 overs losing a wicket to win the semi-final on Friday.
