During this unprecedented times, there is a way to get a little cultured and educated while being confined to your home. Now, you get go to the museum without leaving your couch. As it is well said “A visit to a museum is a search for beauty, truth, and meaning in our lives.
Due to the on-going pandemic, students are really missing all the fun moments of their school life, especially their fun filled trips with their teachers and classmates. So to bring some thrill and excitement to their regular online learning, a virtual tour was organized by Khoj Museum in collaboration with St. Kabir School, Navrangpura on 16th October 2020 for the students of Std. V.
Khoj is the first children’s museum in India which connects science, design and innovation by means of participatory displays. Students were shown various experiments related to weather and factors affecting climatic changes which raised many curious questions in their creative minds. They were also made familiar with instruments along with their usage in the daily life in context with climate and temperature like barometer, anemometer, etc. Interesting DIY activities and models were shown related to the greenhouse effect, wind vane, changes in temperature with rising altitude, hot air balloon etc. filled the whole session with excitement as the students could not wait to make their own models. The whole session was very informative and was highly appreciated by the students as well as the parents.
Though it was not one to one tangible communication, the students really enjoyed their experience through the virtual tour. We were more fascinated about the liveliness in the virtual world than anything else. The virtual museum was more of facts as it covered almost every inch from many aspects of thinking. It was indeed one of the most memorable experience for all of us !!!
