As part of the school’s commitment to environmental sustainability and cleanliness, officials
from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) visited St. Kabir High School, Navrangpura
to conduct an informative awareness session on waste segregation and proper disposal
practices.
During the programme, the AMC team demonstrated the correct use of four different
colour-coded dustbins and explained the types of waste that should be disposed of in each
bin. Students learned how to separate wet waste, dry recyclable waste, hazardous waste
and sanitary waste and understood the importance of waste segregation at the source for
effective recycling and environmental protection.
The interactive session encouraged students to adopt responsible waste management
practices not only in school but also at home. The experts highlighted how small individual
actions can contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable city.
To conclude the programme, students, teachers and all staff members of the school took a
pledge to practise proper waste segregation, use the appropriate dustbins, reduce waste
generation and inspire others to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.
The programme was highly informative and motivated everyone to become responsible
citizens by actively contributing towards a cleaner and greener environment.
