In realms of social media, where folks reside,

A virtual world, where egos abide,

Selfies reign, with filters galore,

Who needs reality when you can enhance more?

Politicians speak, with forked tongues so fine,

Promising change, but delivering decline,

Their words are honey, laced with poison’s sting,

We lap it up, like donkeys to the ring.

Celebrities shine, with talent so rare,

Their private lives, a constant share,

Scandals abound, like weeds in the night,

Their fame’s a flame, that burns with all its might.

In offices, cubicles reign supreme,

Where souls are lost, in a 9-to-5 scheme,

Coffee flows, like lifeblood in veins,

As workers toil, with joyless, hollow pains.

The news we watch, a scripted play,

Sensationalized, to make us sway,

Fear and dread, the emotions they seek,

And we devour, like hungry, mindless shriek.

We’re told to consume, with reckless zeal,

Buy, buy, buy, till our wallets reveal,

The emptiness, of a life so bold,

A never-ending cycle, young and old.

But still we laugh, at the absurdity,

Of our existence, in this comedy,

For in the jest, we find our release,

A fleeting escape, from life’s dull tease.

So let us mock, the foolishness we see,

With satire’s mirror, reflect humanity,

For in the laughter, we find our way,

Through the madness, to a brighter day.
