Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame
Yoga has become a popular form of physical activity to improve health and the state of well-being over the last few years. Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as The International Day of Yoga all over the world. This idea was proposed by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. He believes that Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.
Keeping in mind the theme , “Yoga for Humanity “ , St. Kabir High School Navrangpura celebrated “The International Yoga Day” by organizing a special yoga session in which the students from std 1st – 10th , performed various ‘Asanas’. The main aim was to raise awareness and ignite a passion for fitness and yoga among the students.
The celebration began with a brief introduction about yoga, by the students Std IX , explaining how yoga maintains the harmony between body and mind. Later a small round of Quiz on yoga was also conducted by a student where in all the students participated energetically.
A brief introduction of the guest, Ms Chidrupini Kshtriya, a Certified Yoga trainer , nutritionist and a dietician was done followed by the performance of Yoga with mystic music by the selected yoga students from Std 3rd – 9th . She explained the importance of Yoga in the day to day life. She also discussed that regular practice of Yoga will help the students achieve better mental and physical health followed by simple warm up exercises and Asanas by the students and the teachers enthusiastically.
The entire “YOGABHYAS” lasted for an hour and was concluded with an oath by all the participants on continuing the practice of Yoga for keeping their body and mind in healthy, stress-free and cheerful condition.
