An engaging and informative awareness session was recently conducted for
students of Std. 1 to 5 at St. Kabir High School Navrangpura. The session was led
by Dr. Mahira Kadri and Dietician Ms. Smita Shah, who shared valuable insights on
the harmful effects of excessive sugar consumption and junk food in children’s daily
diets.
The speakers used simple language, visuals, and real-life examples to help young
students understand how unhealthy eating habits can affect their growth, energy
levels, focus, and overall well-being. They also explained how sugar and processed
foods can lead to problems such as tooth decay, obesity, poor immunity, and lack of
concentration in school.
Children were encouraged to choose healthier alternatives like fruits, nuts, and
homemade snacks. The session ended with a pledge to make better food choices
every day.
