St. Kabir High School, Navrangpura, marked Earth Day with a thoughtfully planned
assembly to promote environmental awareness. The programme began with a pledge,
where students resolved to protect the planet.
An informative session on waste segregation helped students understand the correct
use of green and blue dustbins. This was followed by a composting demonstration,
showing how kitchen waste can be converted into manure, encouraging sustainable
habits.
Students also showcased eco-friendly practices from the past, such as using leaf-made
plates and bowls. An engaging elocution segment reflected their awareness and
responsibility towards environmental protection.
The learning extended to classrooms through poster-making on the theme “Our Power,
Our Planet,” where students creatively expressed ideas on conservation.
The celebration was meaningful and inspiring, motivating students to adopt eco-friendly
practices in their daily lives and reinforcing the message that every small effort
contributes to a healthier planet.
