On 3rd June 2026, during Environment Week, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate
in the Sabarmati River Cleaning Drive along with my parents. Being a part of this meaningful
initiative made me realize that even small actions can contribute to creating a cleaner,
greener, and healthier environment. I actively participated in an environmental awareness
campaign focused on effective waste management. I interacted with people and encouraged
them to reduce the use of single-use plastics and switch to biodegradable alternatives for a
more sustainable lifestyle.
One of the key messages I shared was the importance of waste segregation at home. I
explained how separating waste into five categories—wet waste, dry waste, medical waste,
hazardous waste, and electronic waste—can help improve recycling processes and protect
our environment from unnecessary pollution.
I also had the privilege of contributing to the well-being of the volunteers. I served refreshing
juices to all the participants, ensuring that everyone stayed hydrated and energized
throughout the event.
This experience was both inspiring and rewarding. It strengthened my belief that every
individual, regardless of age, can play a significant role in environmental conservation. I am
proud to have contributed to this initiative and look forward to participating in many more
community service activities that help make our world a better place. I am grateful to my
school also for instilling in me the values of environmental responsibility and active
citizenship, which inspired me to contribute meaningfully to this initiative.
