Vishwa Gujarati Bhasha Diwas is celebrated on 24th August every year as a tribute to the legendary Gujarati poet Sri  Narmadashankar Dave on his birth anniversary. This day is celebrated as a day dedicated to Gujarati language and literature. Also known as Kavi Narmad, he is the father of modern Gujarati literature.

The students of St. Kabir High School, Navrangpura celebrated Vishwa Gujarati Bhasha Diwas with a variety of programmes. They honoured the renowned poet by delivering a speech on the life and works of Kavi Narmad and the rich background of Gujarati language and literature followed by group songs and poems  based on the glory of Gujarati language.

The event was graced by NEP advisor, Mr. YP Singh and grandparents of our students. They shared with the students the significance of Gujarati language through thoughtful stories, songs and quotes by great writers. It was a fun, interactive session. The students got learn a lot about Gujarati literature, culture and traditions and the importance of keeping them alive! It ended with an inter-class Gujarati poem recitation competition in which the students presented various poems which brought forth the glory of Gujarati literature.
