I attended journalism workshop by Times of India three day India and it was a fabulous experience. I
got to learn a lot and meet many new people.
On the very first day, we had an introduction session we had an along with a detailed write-up about
ourselves, which we were supposed to present. We were also given an insight into a day at TOI! We
were then divided into groups so that we could engage more with others. We began with a
discussion about the recent NEET paper leak controversy and the CBSE online portal failure. We also
had a small play performed by a group of students, where one portrayed Dharmendra Pradhan &
others acted as protesting students asking for answers. Later, we wrote review of what we had
witnessed from a journalists perspective.
We were also given information about newspaper design & its terminologies. The day concluded
with a session by Das sir who gave us an insight into the working of the entire plant and the process
of printing a newspaper.
On the 2nd day, we were taught creative writing, review writing and to conduct interviews. This was
followed by an activity where in groups we prepared five questions for any personality.
The third day began with a photo & plantation activity followed by a session by Das sir on Finance.
We were then given a task to design front page of a newspaper which was quite fun. We also had a a
short quiz on World Environment Day and were shown glimpse of our 3 day workshop.
The workshop was then concluded with the distribution of certificates and a of letter of
recommendation
I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Ragini the Editor of Times NIE who hosted the workshop.

I had attended the Times of India 3-day journalism workshop and it was a great experience. We got
to learn a lot about the printing process of newspapers and the work life of reporters. The first 2
days consisted of sessions and fun activities regarding reporting, creative writing, review writing and
interviews. The 3rd day was followed with a session on finance and banking and designing the front
page of a newspaper in groups. Overall, we got to learn a lot and had loads of fun.
